Backend Developer

Berlin, Germany

 

Experience:

• At least 2+ years experience
• University degree in the field of computer science or equivalent work experience
• Profound knowledge of PHP5, MySQL & Symfony2
• Solution-oriented developer
• Experience in object-oriented programming (MVC) and in the rational usage of design patterns
• Affinity to technological trends and developments
• Interest in the scaling of high-performance web pages and database optimization
• Basic knowledge in system administration (Linux, Apache)
• Good english or german (don’t worry if you do not speak any german — our business language is english)

 

Will be a plus:

• Any other additional european language plus

Responsibilities:

• Play a central role in the development team being part of/leading technical conception and planning of complex features
• Using the latest development frameworks and technologies out there
• Work with modern product development methodologies like SCRUM &Kanban and using tools like JIRA &Trello
• Development and maintenance of our backend

Our company is a Rocket Internet founded web-to-print provider with headquarters in Berlin. Our E-commerce marketplaces offer a seamless yet interactive shopping experience where customers can design their own high quality print products like invitation cards, canvases or posters. We are currently operating in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, UK and France and plan to expand into additional countries in 2015.
